My first encounter with yoga was in 2000 in India where I went travelling for a year. I completed a one-month long yoga course and I was then convinced that this is what I would like to be doing the rest of my life.
It took me a decade to realise that I should actually teach it and returned to India to complete my Yoga Teacher Training Course, which enabled me to change my life completely. Since then Yoga is an integral part of me and I strive to continually learn. I teach from the heart and only from personal experience. It is an honour to share this ancient science and art with others. Every day I feel the need to take some time for myself and practise yoga. It feels my mind connects with my body and they really communicate in and amazing way together. It allows me to really listen to myself (body, mind and soul). I am able to fully understand my body, by knowing what it really needs. Also I learnt to really communicate with my mind and it gave me the ability to stop the conversation for a while, making place for inner peace, letting myself enjoy good energy and the beauty in each thing. My training and teaching experience allows me to combine traditional Indian Yoga styles with a contemporary western approach to authentically help guide others to find their own love for, and benefits from Yoga. |
What I love most about yoga is that as much or as little as you do, it always brings benefits to your health and happiness. Meditation, pranayama (breath work) and study of the Vedic philosophy are things I really enjoy but my greatest feeling of satisfaction comes from helping others discover the benefits for themselves. I trained at the prestigious Sivananda Yoga Vedanta ashram in Kerela, India. During my time in India I also had the opportunity to receive instruction from Sharat Auroa, a yogi master who trained and worked with the world renowned B.K.S Iyengar. I then travelled to Bali where I had some of the most profound life changing experiences whilst living and practising at Ashram Munivara in Ubud. The Kundalini-Tantra taught there by Master Ketut Arsana is something that I incorporate in my classes and is what inspired me to take a further teacher training in Kundalini-Tantra, which vastly improved my own personal practice as well as the classes and workshops I lead.

Caitlin Barett started practicing yoga regularly in her early 20’s. She developed a real passion for Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga and found the practice incredibly fun and satisfying both physically and mentally. She continued this practice and began to delve deeply into self-discovery and a keen interest in developing a sense of oneness flourished. Caitlin has been a student of Irish Music and Dance since aged 5 and is now the fiddle player in Celtic folk rock band ‘Roving Crows’. She really enjoys the balance in her life between yoga, healing and self-development with live musical performance and is training as an ecstatic awakening dance facilitator, qualifying in May 2018. Dancing has always brought her great joy and she wants to share this transformational method with as many people as possible. In 2017 Caitlin decided that the time had come to go further with her yoga practice and embarked on Kundalini Tantra Yoga teacher training . Yoga is an essential part of Caitlin’s well-being practice and she is keen to share her love of this practice with you. She enjoys helping people gain strength, fitness, flexibility, inner peace and calm. Om Namah Shivaya

Victoria is inspired to reach out and teach the love she has for this ancient Indian practice. . Before becoming a yoga teacher she was an artist creating expressionist artworks and oil portraits. Delving deep into the emotional release and focus through artwork she painted daily, this was her own meditation.
Victoria found herself practising yoga because of illness, no strength, no weight, social anxiety and chronic lower back pain from lordosis. It was time to break out of the art studio and dive into the world. After becoming addicted to yoga after two years she became a yoga teacher, from the life changing experience yoga gave Victoria this is something that she is so proud to share and teach, qualified with 500hr Level 3 Diploma in teaching Yoga, Level 3 Diploma Pilates, Anatomy & Physiology, Thai Yoga Massage & soon to be Kundalini Tantra Yoga. Following the Ashtanga discipline for over 7 years, she now allows that to flow through her teaching. Inspiring students to honour their body, learn to respond to it rather than reacting. Her energy is wild and infectious, having an open heart and playful energy she teaches students to not take life so seriously. Encouraging mindfulness, compassion, respect and self love. Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self. |
Ildiko started her spiritual journey in 2006 with spiritual Tibetan Reiki Healing and Massage. She very soon recognised that the balance of self-awareness and the physical body were a vital key to a healthy life and so she began to practice yoga on a regular basis. She has spent much of her time dedicated to learning and teaching dance. She found that in her life the synergy of dance, healing, meditation, deep breathing and yoga gave her the full life balance which she was looking for and decided that she wanted to share her love of yoga to others. She became aware of the Indian Wellness Academy and decided to join the Kundalini Tantra Yoga Teacher training course. She is looking forward to helping as many people as possible in their connections of mind, body and soul. She can offer Tibetan Reiki healing and massage sessions: Healing hands therapy, where your worries, stress, aches and pains melt away! “The very way you breathe, sit, stand, eat, walk, work – everything can become yoga. You can use any process of life to transcend your limitations.” Charlotte Highland
I started practising yoga in my late teens, when I found myself suffering both physically with aches and pains way beyond my years and emotionally through anxiety, stress and an inability to show and receive love, I felt a deep longing to find something that could help me. I wanted to find a way to take control of my own health and well-being. At first I began to notice the physical feeling of relaxation after I had been to class, this soon turned into mental relaxation and I began to feel that I was more able to deal with the challenges of life with ease. Yoga has helped to give me the confidence to trust in myself and my body, to love and be grateful for my body, mind and spirit and to honour it with nourishment. From this confidence I began my own business 8 years ago working with dogs, offering Reiki, dog walking and Clinical Massage Therapy. This work is truly a passion and a joy as I get to spend my time in nature working with our beautiful four legged friends, and to help them to deal with physical and emotional stress and trauma. I am truly inspired to introduce and guide others to feel the love joy and gratitude that my yoga practise has brought me, both for myself and those around me. I feel very passionately that we can all find a way to peace by stepping onto the mat, listening to and loving ourselves. Namaste |

Zoe Day. I have been going to yoga classes on and off for many years, more off than on due to struggling with poor mental health, fibromayalgia, and chronic addictions. In 2015 I had well and truly burned my life to the ground, and was completely maladjusted to life and suicide seemed a very welcome idea. I am grateful that today things are very different. I feel truly guided by a loving force to want what is best for me and those around me. The turning point for me after going on lots of courses for self care, confidence building, and mindfulness. was when I did my Reiki 1 and 2, which allowed me to connect with myself on a deeper level. That was the end of 2016. From there I studied Ayurveda, and from that became a student of Kundailini Tantra Yoga. The Teacher Training course, is one of the best thing I have done in my life. I am learning so much about myself, and I am so looking forward to teaching and sharing with others. There is a loving path for all of us. Namaste.

Ifigenia Papoulia. Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, [but] that we are powerful beyond measure. This is part of one of my favourite quotes, not only because my Greek name Ifigeneia means “strongborn” and “the powerful one”, but it also reflects what yoga brings with consistent practice. The student of yoga is gifted with more and more self awareness, increasingly getting in touch with their inner fire and power. We re-member who we really are. It is healing on all levels. It is bliss! And very much in line with ancient Greek philosophy, asserting that eudaemonia (bliss) is the only true goal of life here on planet Earth. The quest for self-realisation has been my story ever since I can remember myself. I know it is important to be whole and strong both in body and in spirit. With a background in gymnastics, volleyball, dance and tai boxing, as well as a lifelong career in psychological therapy, yoga intuitively seemed the most natural next step to take. Different classes I was dipping in and out were to prepare me for the authentic teachings, in the Kundalini Tantra tradition, of Anand and Ildiko, my two loving teachers. I, too, will be teaching yoga at the Explore Wellness Festival, along with my fellow yoginis, and I know it will be once in a lifetime experience!

Bequi Mae. I am delighted to be contributing to Explore festival for a second year. It provides such a wonderful space where healing, growth, joyful bliss and acceptance can be met in a friendly, safe and beautiful environment. Yoga and wellbeing, for me, are a continuous journey of exploration and discovery. An unfolding of the self. A place where we can begin to get the essence of our true nature, our soul purpose, to experience the blissful being that each of us are. My journey so far has been long and varied and I am excited to know that there is still so much to learn and discover. This year I will be bringing to explore a number of session that are focussed on relaxation, restoration and rejuvenation. I have, like you, a busy life where I juggle many roles; parenting, householding, managing a business, a family, a friendship circle, a community, pursuing interests and callings and personal growth. Admittedly I am a recovering perfectionist that lives life fast-paced, high-pressured and as efficiently as possible. Slowly I have learnt the benefits of taking the opposite approach in my yoga practice. I get the sense as I wander through life working with many different people that this is the case for a lot of us and that rest is one of the biggest requirements of our day. Our busy modern lives drive us forwards to newer and greater things. It is easy to forget to take time to process and heal from the fast pace our lives can push us through. Without taking this time things become compacted and we start to feel like a stranger in our own lives. Working with a restorative approach brings us all of that love, acceptance and nurturing our hearts and souls need to continue with our journey joyfully and blissfully receiving and creating. I very much look forwards to taking time at Explore to share with you some of what I have learnt so far and in turn learn from all the lovely people there sharing and taking part. It will be a great honour to welcome you to one of my sessions and take you on a journey of relaxation, restoration and rejuvenation.

Lucy Brown. Anand and Ildy appeared to me during a period of synchronistic happenings in my life. I had completed yoga TTC with a very reputable school of yoga, but I needed more. I needed to go deeper than the dogmatic ways of many schools, I wanted to get to the roots of yoga...and that's when I found the Indian Wellness Academy. My partner and I attended a spiritual intimacy workshop with Anand and I just knew this was who I was to study with next. Anand is an amazingly intuitive teacher with a delightful sense of humour. His knowledge of ancient tantric practices, greater than anyone I've met so far. Ildy is a wonderful teacher, sharing her vast knowledge of yoga asana's and their technicalities. Both are full of love and empathy and will be there to help you as much, or as little as you need. I feel very lucky to have made the connection with such a beautiful pair of souls, and to be sharing and learning with them. Look forward to teach again this year at the amazing Explore wellness festival!!!

Shakti Sue Friston. Shakti taught beginner and mixed ability classes in rural Gloucestershire, worked for some years at a rehab centre, taught in prisons, a residential care home for the elderly and a number of natural therapy centres between 1991 and 2013. Since 2013 she has covered the classes of other teachers in Malvern, Gloucester and Birmingham rather than run her own regular classes whilst she cared for her dementia'd mother. The cumulative effect of the most simple of practices have sustained her in these transformational years of change, loss and liminal uncertainty. Recently returned from a year away Shakti now seeks to provide restorative yoga in groups or one to one. Encouraging sensitive, slow and regular personal practice. Using simple asana, breath awareness, and mantra to support meditative sitting to prevent or repair burn out. Her traditional training in the Satyananda Bihar School of Yoga and long association with the Satyananda centre in Birmingham also enables her to offer cleansing and meditational practices to anyone wishing to supplement their regular hatha, vinyasa, ashtanga and Iyengar classes. I would be teaching at the Explore wellness festival about Practices on Gunas and granthis.

Timmy Ginger. I'm all about the esoteric arts. Whatever culture, tradition or conditioning you have come from ultimately we're all talking abut the same thing: how to attain a positive, calm, happy and productive approach to our life situation whatever that maybe. I have delved into many worlds and traditions ranging from shamanism through Buddhism, vipassana meditation, trance, kabbalah, magic, herbalism, astral travel, hipnagogia, raving, sleep deprivation, boxing, parenting, addiction, dissociation, quantum physics, yurt living, software engineering, relationships, artificial intelligence, crystals, numerology, astrology, the now, the past, the future, the akashic record, localisim, globalism, the galactic federation, theorising, inventing, developing, waffling and sleeping. All have their merits however they have all fallen short at the last hurdle for me. This brings me neatly onto my current focus - kundalini tantra yoga. Yoga? What's that? I said. Plastic mats and lycra? No. Forget all that - we're talking tantra and kundlini here. This is a set of solid, reliable and productive teachings and methods for raising your consciousness in order to understand and achieve your full potential as a human being. No nonsense, no blind beliefs, no dogma - just focused, backed up, experiential practices and methods to achieve what you have always wanted; peace, happiness, liberation and growth.

Vaishali Patel Vaishali, has always had a passion to learn about the ancient healing arts. She started her spiritual journey of self-enquiry in 1999 after practicing Usui Reiki. Understanding that we are more than the physical body and mind lead Vaishali on a deep quest to find the verity of her true identity. She examined and explored many healing modalities and personal development, going around in circles. It was through the practice of yoga that lead Vaishali back full circle to the Self. Turning to a daily practice of yoga changed her perspective, slowing down the pace, inner contemplation and becoming consciously aware of the very subtle energies that run through the mental, physical and energetic bodies answering the deepest question ‘Who am I?’ ‘The teacher appears when the student is ready.’ Vaishali decided to delve deeper into yoga philosophy and joined the Indian Wellness Academy to become a Kundalini Tantra Yoga Teacher. There she learnt Tantra yoga is a system that takes you on a deep journey of self-enquiry back to the truth of who you are. Tantra is the only system Vaishali found that doesn’t ‘tell you’ what you should do, rather empowers you to take responsibility to feel, discover and experience for yourself. To know your true identity is to know your Self. Vaishali is ready to share the true yoga teachings from the Indian Wellness Academy teachers Anand and Ildiko, and her love for the Tantric Yoga practice, to help others achieve the peace, love and health that comes from yogic self-enquiry. Brigitta Nagy. The search for answer for " Who are we?" and "Why are we here? " has been motivating me to discover and get to know myself better since my teen ages. Through the knowledge of spiritual teachers and different healing modalities such as Tibetan Energy Healing, I have continued to learn about the importance of Karma and living in a conscious way on an everyday basis. Our bodies have a very strong role in the expression of our soul, therefore movement, dance, music, singing and breathing exercises are very important part in our life.As a masseuse I see everyday people's need for connecting with their bodies, and I was searching for a way to help them, not just with the massage, but to find a better body awareness. I have been interested in yoga for a long time, but I wanted to find a way to understand it on the soul level I am really grateful to have met Ildy and Anand, and that I have had to chance to join their 1 year Kundalini Tantra Yoga training. I recommend the Indian Wellness academy with all my heart to everyone who is open to discover the ancient wisdom that our ancestors practiced every day, but we almost forgotten about. To lift the collective consciousness, the route is always through the personal growth. Therefore our personal development is very important for a better future for all of us. Let's connect to the source and allow the light of love to freely flow through all of us. Namaste

Séverine Obertelli. After completing a first Hatha training with another school, I recently completed my training in Hatha, Vinyasa, Hot Yoga, Yin and Restorative Yoga with the Contemporary School of Yoga, a innovative school who promotes deep respects for the origins of yoga, supporting at the same time a pioneering approach. My training has allowed me to embark on a exploration into yoga and is a lifelong spiritual quest, a constant reminder that we are a spirit in a body. I see yoga as an exploration, a way for everyone to reconnect with their essence, reaching towards balance, truth and self love.. My intention as a teacher is to share a very personal journey. I enjoy facilitating anyone into reconnect to their sacred body, to the holiness of life and love, their instinct, their inner dragon power. I believe that yoga can help us tune in to the inner guidance of our body, and learn to trust our power, accept our limitations and revel our truths. An avid seeker, my practise is inspired by many teachers, and of course by who I am and by what I love: children, the animal world and mystical creatures, the power of nature and its elements, the mystery of life and oriental practises, tai chi, the deep spiritual truths embedded in all religions, and my last found love of the kundalini tantra approach. I love to combine movement and stillness, silence and music, words and chants, meditation and fun, experimentation and visualization, with more traditional asanas. I believe that our body should “feel” shapes more than “be” shapes. Deep listening and respect: a new relationship to our body is a new relationship to our spirit.

Petra· Craniosacral Therapy. Our bodies adapt to everything:everything we feel, think or experience, from the moment of conception, until the day we die. Due to stress, traumatic events, injuries, illness, unhealthy lifestyle, we become tense, and the body has to do extra work to compensate. This uses up energy, creates strain, and we lose the ability to 'be able to be with ourselves'. Craniosacral Therapy (CST) offers you the opportunity to slow down, and to your body to reconnect with its core health, helping to release held restrictions, so you can feel balanced and free again. CST works by using a light touch. Through her hands, the Craniosacral Therapist will listen into your system, tuning into the rhythmic, tidal motions of your body and their organising force, the 'Breath of life'. CST works on all level, balancing mind, body and spirit. you can approach me at the festival, and I would be more than happy to answer your questions. Giving and receiving Craniosacral Therapy for a number of years now, I wonder how I coped with life before. I've learned that you can't pour from an empty cup, but if you have adequate resources, no matter what life throws you, things are easier to bear. I believe that every person we meet in our life is here to teach us something. This equally applies to my clients, every one is a new learning opportunity for me, a new teacher. Thank you for your trust, and I look forward to learn more with you.

Tonia Peters began regularly attending yoga classes approximately ten years ago and quickly began to feel the physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual benefits of regular yoga practice. She was fortunate to begin attending classes with Ildy and Anand from the Indian Wellness Academy and they sparked her interest in learning more about the ancient practice of yoga and tantra. Since that time she has completed a one year Spiritual Transformation course led by Anand and has more recently been following the Kundalini Tantra Yoga Teacher Training Course delivered by Ildy and Anand. Tonia is keen to share her enthusiasm for yoga with others as she feels it has improved her strength, stamina, flexibility, focus and her overall physical and mental well-being. She now hopes to help others to feel the benefits of yoga practice for themselves.

Colleen Mullarkey. My journey with yoga began fairly recently in April 2016 when I started attending Ildy's classes once a week. Life in general was stressful trying to balance everything and my body was stiff and tired. Through regular weekly attendance I started to notice a difference, first in my body but then also in my mindset and how I was starting to cope easier with life's challenges, the big and the small. During late autumn 2016 I was unable to attend my regular class for a few months but knew that it was something I would return to when circumstances allowed. It was this reflection upon how much yoga had helped me that led me to wanting to learn more about it so I started the teacher training course with Anand and Ildy. My own understanding of yoga has been deepened courtesy of the expert knowledge and wisdom of Anand and Ildy. The course has played an integral part in my own life journey and personal transformation and I am deeply grateful for their guidance and support. Although not the initial reason for doing the course I am now looking forward to teaching yoga and sharing my knowledge in the hope that others can benefit like me. Lastly but by no means least, I have also met some new friends, beautiful souls who I feel will be friends for life.
